The actual operation of a building often shows a large energy consumption difference with the predicted values at the design stage, and there is also a huge energy saving potential for operating under non-architectural design conditions. Therefore, using building simulation tools to explore the causes of energy consumption differences and optimize the energy saving potential is a common method. With EnergyPlus, calibrates the building models based on actual tests for four office buildings in different climate zones, and analyses the causes of energy consumption difference. Explores the impact of input variables including heat transfer coefficient of building envelope, indoor temperature, power density and building leakage on energy consumption through local sensitivity analysis. The results show that the indoor temperature is the most sensitive to energy consumption.
